ā€œWonderā€ Exhibition

IMG_3775

This work by Ming Yin Wong, is the most favorite one for me. Ā The Ā main character in this picture should be the women, she seems like to show peace, wisdom, or confidence. However when I moved Ā my eyes upper, I saw a plane fling and leaving a white line upon her. Ā I feel like ironic in this work. Ā  The Ā sculpture is felt serious, but the plane left a funny impression for me, like a joke. Ā The whole picture tells me a story that the goddess of courage is encouraging people to fight enemies, at the same time, the plane’s flying and saying, “dont worry about me,I’m just a stranger. Ā ” They ‘ve made a contrast which is really interesting.

BRIC Art Center!

I have to say today I really had a wonderful time! This is the first time to visit a TV program studio(1ļ¼‰, really fantastic. Before, I just was confused about how do the TV programs work, but today I opened my eyes to see those tiny buttons and many fancy screens working. I think I sort of understand their process.
Those exhibitions are amazing too! Especially the art works that shows several human bodies (2)with animal heads. When I think about them, animals do something wild and cruel, actually people do the same thing as them. This is my opinion. I was so into this that I forgot to take the pic of the artist. Feeling sorry about it.
The most interesting thing is the “inside out” house!(3)My point is a bit different. I feel like it means, you are inside of the house, but your mind is outside. The sound system makes you think about not only the house, but also the whole world, because be inside, you can hear that water is flowing, birds are singing, I also feel the trees are shaking because of the gentle wind, like it really stand in front of my eyes. Sounds coming from different directions makes me feel like I’m walking in the forest. This is a pretty cool experience.

(1) Studio. There are plenty of tiny buttons and screens.

Center For Book Arts.

On our last course, we had a field trip which was really cool. Especially the Center for Book Arts! I really like the 30 feet long comic painting called Accretion Scroll, by Mike Estabrook which is super genius! It caught my attention at all. I’ve “read” it from the left to the right and I was trying to find out the order of his painting, but that was so hard. Standing in front of the work with a distance, the picture shows a clear contrast between black and white. When I stepped in, there’s really a mass! But when I watched it much closer, I noticed there are plenty of stories which are connected! It was like people are on the way working, or a corner of a supermarket, or a super great war place of a star war! This painting is so fabulous which makes me think of thousands of ideas, they just jump out of my mind!
Art works are always a good communicating tool to express what you want to say!IMG_2953
