Obvious :

I chose these images to represent an obvious figure background relationship because the relationship between the figure in the image and the background is clear and ‘obvious’ to the viewer. We know what the object of focus is and what falls into the background.

Ambiguous :

These images are not so obvious as to what the point of focus should be which is why I’ve placed these in the ‘ambiguous’ category. The ‘figure’ in this space is not ‘obvious’.
