BRIEF

Using Photoshop, make a frame animation that visually re-interprets a pre-existing movement loop, using a different graphic style for each frame. ***Successful completion of this assignment and attendance on 5/19 and 5/23 will make up for up to 50% of your Participation and Attendance grade (10% of your total grade for the semester).***

SOURCE MATERIAL GUIDELINES

  • at least 10 frames longΒ – you can remove unnecessary frames to shorten your source animation, and I strongly advise limiting yourself tot 10 frames.
  • single human (or humanoid) subject – video game characters are OK as long as they have human proportions; Fortnite emotes can be great sources as long as you avoid characters with bulky or unusual cosmetics.
  • most (~90%) of subject’s body in each frame – it’s ok if a hand or foot goes outside the image, but use as much of the body as possible
  • use a different visual/graphic style for each frameΒ – it doesn’t need to reflect the content or colors of the original, just the subject’s visual composition
  • all media and styles allowed (as long as its yours) – hand drawing, Procreate, photomontage, vector drawing, etc.
  • no generative AI (Dall-E, MidJourney, Stable Diffusion, etc.)
  • you may use the examples below for reference OR as the source for your own project:
