I’ll be focusing on gaming. The game I’m going to introduce to you is Genshin Impact. It’s an open world RPG game (Role-playing game). I’m going to mention the communication model of this game. For example, player reaction, community reaction, and in-game reaction.
Background/Review of Literature
Most of us love to play games. Whether it’s rhythm games, RPG, or FPS games. Each game has its pros and cons. Some games have good animation scenes while some games have good storylines. All games are different. Genshin Impact is an open-world RPG gacha game made by Mihoyo. Mihoyo has made other great games like Honkai Impact. It’s available on IOS, Playstation, and PC. It’s a game where you roll for characters you like and grind artifacts for them to be strong to fight against enemy monsters and bosses.
Here are some questions that will be explored in this Research Project:
- What is Genshin Impact?
- What is the player’s reaction about the game (In-game, community, etc.)? In what way does player’s reaction impact the game?
- What are some factors of video game communication model that can be applied to this game?
- What are some controversial in this game that can harm the game in the future?
- Looking at their social medias, are the game creator meeting their expectation?
I’m exploring this topic because each game are different. They each have their own good and bad side. I’ll show it by talking about one of the most popular game of the year, Genshin Impact.
Method And Design
I’ll be looking through their official websites, find articles and patch notes of the game, and articles. Some articles included articles about a certain character like Baal or Zhongli and articles on other games. I’ll also find some books that talk about video game communication model. I’ll present all that information in my Research Paper and Powerpoint.
