- Thereās a theory that Alice in Wonderland is some sort of allegory about the usage of drugs. Her journey to Wonderland is a more different type of ātripā. (Hookah smoking caterpillar and his magic mushroom)
- In my reimagining of this story, Ace is a young adult who tries mushrooms for the first time and experiences a very wild psychedelic trip. Everything occurs in his imagination. He falls down the rabbit hole and lands at the foot of a fast paced rabbit. The rabbit takes off with Ace right on his tail and abruptly stops at a table with two vials of liquid, one red and one blue. The rabbit then explains that the red vial would instantly grant him the life heād always wished to live. The blue vial would simply grant him an abundance of patience and determination. As one can imagine, he chose the easy path to success. The rabbit explains that Ace must follow him to meet the King of Hearts in order to be gifted the keys to success. Along his trip to meet the King in the land of Wonder, he constantly battles different characters all representing parts of who he is. With each encounter, he realizes that maybe the fast life isnāt better. He especially realizes this once he meets a blue butterfly, who wouldāve shown up sooner had he chose the vial of blue liquid. He helps Ace realize that the real keys to a true successful and meaningful life lies within. You must have patience and determination in order to truly ascend to the life youāre meant to live. Realizing this, he chooses to ditch the rabbit and decides to follow the butterfly to meet the King, but with different intent. Once he meets the King of Hearts, he realizes that it is himself. This version of him is how he once was, an egotistical, manipulative narcissist. He explains that he is no longer interested in the fast life, the butterfly helped him realize the right way of doing things. However, the King, the embodiment of his ego, wonāt let him succeed. Heās now faced with the challenge of defeating the King, which would rid of the worst parts of his character. And as most fairytales go, he is successful in the end.
