Tomer Hanuka first started by uploading a traditional sketch into Photoshop and using it as his background. After an initial trace with black ink, he began his layer work to flesh out the sketch and to give it more detail. Once the inking process was complete, he began the color and shade work(probably my personal favorite part of the process, as I think it gives a sketch more character). While layering is still a small challenge for me, watching this video showed that by slowly constructing layers of ink, paint and shade, you can create something even more captivating than a binary sketch.
