Jillian Tamaki’s mentions 7 steps that she uses for her work process. The first step she talks about is to be open and be engaged in the topic. Read books, watch the news, or even go to the movies. The second step is about collecting any media research that can help her with the basis of an idea. The third step is to read the content given carefully. Focus on the topic and read about it. Spend some time thinking about what you’ve collected already and come up with ideas. The fourth steps that she mentions is to make the reading engaging. Add some metaphors, symbols, connections, etc. The first step is to add images; gather some photos to show. The six step is to combine words with the images. The last and final step is to create thumbnails to finished sketches. My work process is slightly similar than to Tamaki’s work process. After step 4 is when my work process is different. I enjoy using photograph and researching photos to come up with ideas about what to sketch.
