For this sketchbook assignment, I learned more about compositional techniques including; directional lines, negative space, balance, rhythm, and movement. I enjoyed sketching thumbnails for each but, my favorite to focus on is the use of negative space, directional lines, or using all techniques in one just as Paul Goble. For my two sketches, I of course did negative space and directional lines. For negative space, I drew half of an apple with the NY skyline, leaving a lot of resting space for the viewer. In my directional lines sketch, I used an image of a dancer that I found on Instagram. The lines definitely helped.
