When I came to The United States everything was so new for me. I have never seen big buildings before in my life. I learned how to use the subways by getting lost. I started High School without knowing English. All I used to know was, “okay, please, Thank you and excuse me”

I had to make friends which was not difficult for me because I am pretty nice and cool to people. I like to help and listen to them a lot. But I was missing all my friends from Mexico, especially my best friend Blanca. She is so cute and a good person. I have shared many good and bad moments with her in La primaria(Middle School). We continued to talk to each other every day even though the distance couldn’t separate us. But as time went on, we stopped to talking everyday to every week. The difference of hours was one of the main things we could not continue to talk to each other because when I used to be free, she used to be busy. Now we talk to each other every two months.

In the first months I was feeling so different and lonely because I left my Mexican life to live an American life. I used to go to the park to sit and see people talking and kids playing and me sitting there like an anonymous person. I never thought it was going to be a big change in my life by coming to the United States. Now, I am happy to be where I am.
