For my Discourse community piece, I will be proposing a letter to spread awareness of the issue in my discourse community. I believe writing a letter allows me to discuss this issue with a directly targeted group and it will help me get the word across more smoothly to the people who are partially aware of this ongoing issue we’re facing. A letter will help Persuade and share information with this audience. Without the ability to access the internet I was unable to keep up with my coursework or reach out for substantial help since all of my courses were now online, and the only way to get in contact with someone was via email. I know I was not alone in this, this is why today I’m speaking out to all of the college/high school students and even professors around New York City we’re having difficulties maintaining internet connections due to the pandemic and living in low-income communities like mine.

Class Meetings & Times: in person Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4 – 5:15 PM in Namm 403
Office Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12 – 1:30 PM. I’ll be available through Zoom and will send an invitation via email that you should keep all semester. Try to join my meeting at the start of the hour, not at the end—since I may be talking to other students or have another appointment after the hour is up. If those times don’t work with your schedule, we can schedule a different time. This means you’ll have to schedule an appointment in advance via email. I suggest you have multiple times in mind, since your schedule may not mesh with mine!
