The definition of civil disobedience is refusing to follow certain rules/laws in a peaceful matter. I believe that Antigone did not engage in civil disobedience due to the fact that she spread turmoil to get her way. Antigone disobeyed the king to bury her brother which would clearly cause some chaos therefore no longer making it peaceful. For there to be civil disobedience you need to be civil. “disaster crept upon the town” (lines 185-186). Antigone’s methods bring nothing more than terror and disorder into this society.
