To whomever, this may concern,

Hi. My name is Mahreen Munawar and I am a communication design major here at City Tech. I’m writing this letter to you to help you prepare better before entering this class. This is an interesting and fun class only if you make it. The assignments are flexible and you get to write about the things that interest you so take that as an opportunity to express yourself through writing instead of dragging your feet through it just because you don’t like to write. We did three major assignments and the one I found the most compelling was the U3 assignment. There was a lot of room to be creative in this U3 assignment so take advantage of that and bring in your artistic or social skills and just have fun with it. 

As we all know, we are in the middle of a worldwide pandemic and due to that, this entire semester was online. Online school seems like a dream until it became and reality and trust me, it was not anything like a dream. If the next semester ends up being online take the following tips to succeed. 

  1. Never miss your class, you will literally never catch up on the work you missed and if you do decide to catch up it will feel like a burden, so do not go down that road. 
  2. Always check your email, at least twice a day. 
  3. Make sure you’re checking blackboard, open lab whichever website your professor chooses to post your assignments on. 
  4. Stay on top of your work. 
  5. And lastly, don’t be too harsh on yourself. Make sure to give yourself a break here and there, school can be stressful. 

Overall, if you pay attention in this class you’ll learn a lot of skills that will be useful in the world outside of college. Such as communication skills as well as ad writing skills. And if the course ends up being online you’ll definitely learn how to write a convincing email.
