Throughout this course we have done a lot of writing and of course I have improved in many areas and I have some other that I still have to work on. I have learned that I really enjoy writing a piece when I’m allowed to give my own opinion as opposed to writings where I have to stick to researches. The writing assignment #1 was the assignment that came the easiest to me, because apart from doing a research on this topic, I was also able to speak from my own experiences and I felt identified with this topic. As a writer, I have learned to think and organize my writing and not just simply writing from the top of my head. I have learned to identify reliable sources. I have also become more comfortable doing researches, which I left a little intimidated about. Additionally, I have expanded my vocabulary and improved the formatting of my sentences. I truly believe I have become a better writer overall, although with many more things to improve.

In Micro-Activity #9 where we were asked to analyze the declaration of independence, it was a challenging assignment, because of the old English and organization of each part. By analyzing the declaration of independence, I was able to understand the organization of the piece and what each of the paragraphs intended. This type of organization helped me with micro-activity activity #13 which was also another challenging one. I believe that in writing the organization of the piece is one of the most important items, so that the audience can stay interested and follow the writing. The annotated bibliography taught me how to stay organized when writing a paper or any other genre. It helped me keep track of my sources and continue researching for more sources when the ones I found were not good enough. I decided to include these two activities in my portfolio because I know they will come of use in any other writing assignment I have in the future, in college or even in any other area of my life.
