Quote 1. Paragraph 2. “One of the many things that I did learn in the investigative process was that university clocks move at different speeds in different parts of a university. The clock goes very slowly in the Herbarium. “

Response: This sentence gave me an insight into how people behave within particular domains. The main thing that embraces any group in my opinion is the nature of actions and deeds the members of those groups are performing. A quick example of an office clerk. In real life, this may be a normal person without significant spikes in behavior. Once that person is within the group i.e. workplace, (as the author narrows the definition by discourse community), and he or she gets on a train of bureaucracy, his behavior totally changes following the behavioral patterns that are accustomed in that tribe based on nature of actions. What really surprises me, is that such an exposed fact of how groups of human beings interact on a long term basis has firstly been brought to the public only in 1996.

Quote 2. Paragraph 9. “In addition, discourse communities both influence and are influenced by the larger communities within which they are situated. In consequence, when a university becomes established in a town, the presence of this constellation of discourse communities influences the wider urban environment;”

This notice is really interesting – I remember myself visiting Eton, a town in England where Eton College is situated. The College is one of the most famous schools in the world and it has been the traditional source of British politicians for the last 500 years. Interestingly, the people who lived in the town itself never been the students of Eton of any kind, but that pride or feeling of belonging made them glowing and emitting light of the wavelength the same as the students’ one.

My three DCs are:

1) Staffroom in the private school of mathematics.
As a part-time teacher of math for middle scholars, I absorbed the jargon, the teacher’s pace, and lifestyle (again, partially)  that is quite specific as this is a profession. I feel a little bit separated from other forms of humankind. In terms of values, to bring enlightenment through the darkness of obsolete public school education. The US is on the 38th place in math rating, which is at least does not match the scale of scientific feats in this country.

2) Member of a Crossfit fam.

Thanks to those tiny semi-alive creatures called viruses that separated people from sports’ teamwork. Crossfit is a relatively new type of sport but the terminology is outstandingly weird. I presume it was created to highlight the sacredness and secrecy of the community. As we know, the forbidden fruit is as tasty as hell. The value is fairly new in the sport’s market – to be the fittest person. By fittest, they mean to be able to do anything with your body efficiently and functionally. Lifting weights? Nope, that is narcissism. Lifting weights IN ORDER TO be able to lumberjack? Yes.

3) Harry Potter VR full immerse game – in the waiter’s list.

As a true fan, I am looking forward to playing this game through the prism of people like me. The values are simple – to have a chance to experience the virtual world where your imagination has been lurking for the last decade. Terminology is a fake old Latin styled words and spells, which is a tiny bit in a plethora of words that were specifically created for the new Universe. A normal individual will not understand what people talk about in the context of HP. Merely won’t.
