During my writing process I found it useful to have read “Shitty First Drafts” because it helped get through my overall writing process. While I was writing it helped to write multiple drafts before my final piece, and by writing multiple drafts it allowed me to gather all of my thoughts and ideas. Writing multiple drafts was a necessary way to approach my Unit 1 Education Narrative because, draft after draft I would either fix or improve certain aspects of my writing, and I would later incorporate details from each draft into the final product. Finally, reading “Shitty First Drafts” allowed me to get words written onto a page much easier because in the text it said that the getting things written onto a page is a very crucial part of the process, and that it doesn’t have to be perfect because it would be one of many drafts that would be used to build the final written piece.
