The reason I chose this photographer is because I really enjoy the choice of color that is in his photographs and enjoy how present his photos are. It’s so raw but yet cinematic and colorful in the most minimalistic way. His kind of photo work is something that I want to do in the near future.
The content and the subject matter of this photo is the man outside of the glass window. The sky is beautiful, it looks like morning and I love how I could see every detail/object in this photo. That’s what strikes me the most. The way this was shot looks so vintage to me. It also looks so cinematic. I think Philip is trying to show minimalism and detail at the same time. The compositions being used are scale, perspective, point of view and rule of thirds. Overall, looking through Philip-Lorca diCorcia’s work is none other than influential and innovative. More and more artists continue to push boundaries and break barriers time and time again. It’s inspires me and in artists to keep going and keep creating no matter what.
