Education paragraph

This one was great because I made have like a talk with myself and reflect on the past and how much I have change in the past years. I have a lot to thank for because I really made a whole new person that I like and the fact that I can see something that really changed me was special and I consider this one of my favorite parts of this term. I acknowledge the comments I received when I made this post and in the future I will make a change of it.

I am 18 years old and I just graduate high school. I was pretty nervous moving into college for my first semester. I’m at my house overthinking things, I was assuming and imagining how the future was going to turn out for me. I was hoping that things were going to go smoothly and it turn out that it did turn out good( for now ). I sometimes have a nervous breakdown and it’s been bothering for long time now. Few weeks before college I was talking to my sister in the hospital because she just gave birth that same week and was recovering. We had a long talk about what’s my future going to look like and what do I need to expect from it. She clear my mind by explaining that as I keep getting older and the years go by there will be a point on where I would not have someone to depend on. I need to keep moving smarter and make time for the things that I know would help me later in life. She still told me that I was young and that I should enjoy my life to the fullest and never look back. She and I wanted the same thing and it was clear that becoming and adult is not easy but it didn’t bother me as much because I know that’s just the way of life and that’s where everyone is going. From Having more responsibilities to Making the right decision was a lot to take in. At the beginning, I was nervous and scared to be honest with you  but as I keep living my life and doing the right things that would help me in life I feel as if I evolved into a new person in this world and became someone that I never thought I could become. There would be people who would notice the change and say something about it. Most wont understand but others will. I can remember that day like it was yesterday. I’m a sophomore in college and I still feel the same way as I did when I started. Everyday is a new day and still feel nervous for the future but it’s something that I need to overcome like many people have done. There has been good days and bad days but Im still head straight and moving on.She told me to never be afraid of failure or being rejected because those Same mistakes will help you with having a bright future. There are going to be days were you just can’t take it anymore. They say behind every stormy cloud there’s a clear blue sky. You have to overcome the difficult times and move on until you achieve your dreams and goals. My sister told me all of this before she achieve her dreams of becoming a police officer. Dreams come true if you put your mind to whatever you want in life. There would be tough times but tough times make even tougher people.

Mother Tongue by Amy Tan

when I first read this story I found it very interesting at first because I have never enjoyed reading at first but as I kept reading I found it really relatable. This made me think more of other things that I can read that will be as relatable as this story was. I have taken the different comments and there were somethings that I could have done to make it better.

PG #1 ” I am a writer. and by that definition I am someone who has always loved language. i am fascinated by language in daily life. i spend a great deal of my time thinking about the power of language– the way it can evoke an emotion, a visual imagine, a complex idea, or a simple truth.”

i fine this quote really interesting because it shows how she’s the writer and she can do whatever she wants and write however  she wants. This is her way of telling us her story. Another thing that catches my eyes is where she places her punctuations and comas, for some people it may look wrong but thats how she writes and tells you her story

PG #1 ” My mother was in the room. And it was perhaps the first time she had heard me give a lengthy speech, using the kind of English I have never used with her.”

I found this quite funny because she has talked to her mother everyday I imagine and then once she’s at this place with her mother and she gives her story in this specific language, her mother is shocked and confused because she has never heard her daughter speak that way.

PG #2 ” And sure enough, the following week there we were in front of this astonished stockbroker. And I was sitting there red-faced and quiet, and my mother, the real Mrs. Tan, was shouting at his boss in her impeccable broken English.

This I found really interesting because they were supposed to received a check and never did. They were giving them more days hoping that they’ll get it but it never happened, so they end up doing exactly what they said they were going to do. They showed up to his manager and complaint. Amy was seating there quiet and embarrassed, while her mother is shouting at the manager in her broken English. When she speaks of her mother talking in ” broken English” it shows that she’s speaking her language and not the manager language in which I assume they are very different.
