Q#1: The value of creating layers in Illustrator is keeping on track the amount of layers you have while creating your designs. Also, there’s a layer you would like to delete you’ll have to click on the trash button.

Q#2: When creating your self-portrait, the 1st tool you’ll have to use is the Pen tool. Next, begin to create triangles any where on the picture by holding onto the shift key and making triangles. Then, you continuously do this throughout the whole picture until it looks complete.

    1. Layers help you edit, hide, and lock. Essentially, you can edit something on one layer while the other ones are locked, and it won’t affect the locked layers, you’ll be working on the unlocked layer, while you can choose to hide the other locked layers.
    2. Using the pen tool, you start at one anchor. which is one point. you create three points, on the last point you connect it to the first anchor, which is the first point.

    1. the value of creating layers in illustrator is so that you know where everything is.

    2. to close triangle shapes in the self-portrait, might have to work by using the pen tool by going up, going down, then going straight. That’s how i know to describe it. I think i’m right if i’m not mistaken.

Layers are one of the biggest aspects that make designing very easy and comfortable. One of the advantages of the layers is being able to put different elements separately and label them accordingly with names and colors. When everything is on one board it’s very difficult to select and edit small or large elements because everything will be very crowded and tight, layers remove these problems. Also, with layers you can view and not view elements if they are distracting by clicking on the eye, you can also lock layers so it doesn’t get edited by mistake. Overall, layers help us organize every element of our work and construct freely without having to worry about messing up other elements.

To close the triangle in self-portrait I think that you have to connect the endpoint and the start point together. To start a new triangle from there hold down the shift key and start a new triangle from there, with the shift key the pen tool will not delete the previous triangle point and will allow you to continue from there.

There are many values of creating layers in Illustrator. First, it would be easier to organize all of the contents in your ai file. Especially when you are working on a large project with numerous components. Then afterward you can create a layer to group each component into a layer. Each layer then can be selected as a group or a single selection can be a lock or hide from the artboard.

    2.
You will use the pen tool to draw the triangle shapes. You will have to click three times and the last click should be where the first click was to close the path. The closed path would then be the shape.
