I personally like to choose Adobe illustrator for most of my school projects. I find illustrator a little easier to navigate than other adobe programs. You can create many types of artwork whether it is an illustration, vector art, among many other things. I use the software when I need to create a logo. If the logo has different parts to the design, I create them separately in Illustrator before using them in indesign or photoshop. I also have used illustrator for creating stationary artwork such as notepads design, sticker design, sticky notes, among other things. I have also used illustrator to create patterns for projects.
