To-Do Before Class

It is very important to purchase the following before the first day of class:

  1. The Text Book (Ching, Building Construction Illustrated, see syllabus for edition)
  2. An architect’s scale
  3. A roll of 18″ trace paper
  4. A Lead Holder with H or 2H lead and Lead Sharpener
  5. A 30/60 triangle (at least 12″ on the long side)

    • Submit scanned + formatted Reading Notes+ Sketches
    • In addition to your notes + sketches, be sure to reflect on and answer the following questions: 
      • How does the book define architecture? 
      • How does that compare / contrast with my own understanding of architecture?

    • First draft of plan geometry diagram, measured sketch
