Objectives

  • Students learn to evaluate content in order to create sample pages for their publications

Activities

During class, we will prepare sample pages of our book. This will determine grids and main layout.

Book Specs:

  • 5.5 x 8.5 inches
  • Black and white
  • Number of pages to be determined (but only one (1) review per page)- for now create a document with 3 pages.
  • Facing Pages
  • Margins are up to you, but avoid bleeds and proximity to spread gutters
  • Typeface selection is up to you, but do not use more than two (2) typefaces. Remember that you can use variable typefaces (or variations such as bolds, italics, condensed, etc)
  • Consider previous lectures when making decisions.
