Three years ago, six managers from the various department of Siemens came to v511 to talk about the job opportunities at Siemens. In the end, Siemens hired 3 of our graduates among the attendees. Now Siemens would like to do another in-person presentation of job opportunities in Siemens and interview and collect resumes from our students. I have made an arrangement for Siemens managers to come on Friday, May 6th at 2:00 PM.
Please attend this in-person event by Siemens

Dear Engineering Student,
My name is Bo Hyun Lee, Ph.D., and I am an assistant professor in Counseling & Educational Psychology at the New Mexico State University. The purpose of this study is to learn more about the contextual and socio-cognitive factors that influence the academic and career development among the historically underrepresented college students pursuing a degree in engineering. This information will contribute to better understanding the process in which students decide to pursue an engineering degree, as well as the variables that impact persistence in both engineering education and careers. Participation involves completing a confidential online survey (approximately 15-20 minutes to complete) at your convenience. Participation in this study is completely voluntary, and this research has been approved by the Institutional Review Board for Human Subjects in Research at New Mexico State University (NMSU IRB # 22261). To participate in this study, you need to be 18 years of age or older, and identify as African American/Black, Hispanic American/Latinx, Native American, and Bi/Multi-Racial American. You also need to be a declared major within engineering fields as of Fall Semester 2020. Individuals who consider majoring in Engineering, but did not declare engineering as a major are not eligible for this study. If you are interested in participating in this study, please click on the link below, fill out the informed consent form, and complete the study.
In exchange for participating in the study, if interested, you may enter a drawing for a chance to win one of 50 Amazon gift cards of $10, one of 15 Amazon gift cards of $20, one of three Amazon gift cards of $50, one of two Amazon gift cards of $75, and one $100 Amazon gift card. Please note that your email address will not be used to identify you in any way and submitting your email address is totally voluntary. Please don’t miss this research opportunity. If you have any questions about the study, please contact the principal investigators at the email or phone below. Thank you for your interest in this study. Your participation is greatly appreciated. Sincerely,
Mariana Cazares Rodriguez

The gun violence in the Sunset Park station yesterday was horrible for our community. If you find students who are struggling with anxiety and terrified to come to Voorhees using the subway, please ask them to stay home until they feel safe. Meanwhile, you can record/live your in-person lecture or give any accommodation for study-from-home situations. Please emphasize that students will not be penalized for remote attendance. Also, if necessary, please advise them to contact the Counselling Center below.
We still have several months before the fall semester starts. There are some students who registered too much and will start dropping some. Please keep checking cunyfirst and see if someone drops a seat. Meanwhile, put your info on the enrollment wishlist.
