The idea of a copyright makes sense. If you created it why should anyone else receive profit from your work. If only you contributed to the production, you alone should have control over it. However I believe one of the videos said disney remade “Alice in Wonderland” from another company, but now under new copyright laws you can’t remake it. It’s unfair that disney made profit off of someone else’s work, but now due to new laws no one can make money from the work disney basically stole. I believe if your going to change the copyright law you should at least return profits made from redistribution of work from another author. For instance disney should give money from “Alice in Wonderland” to the original creator of “Alice in Wonderland.” Also the original creator should get the copyright of it under the new ruling of his lifetime plus 70 years.
