Most media are controlled by the upper class companies and with that being that way the lower class don’t get there news or their stories out. The big companies aren’t expanding unless its with a bigger company so the lower companies aren’t going to ever get as big as the bigger companies. In “Critical Thinking, Deviant Knowledge, and Alternative Press” the bigger companies controlled the news, medias, TV and etc. and they are the ones that control what goes on the papers or the commercials. The only way the lower class are getting their stories out and news is by the alternative press which is not as much as the other publishers publishing news for the bigger companies. And in the “The history and Characteristics of Zines” are getting their stories or news about their subjects out there even if they have to publish it themselves. Why do they do this? I guess to get their work known and to be known. The zines are becoming known over the 2 decades. Even though the lower class aren’t getting their stories and news out through the newspapers, they are getting through by zines.

Classic Vs the Future
While reading Vinyl Vs CD/MP3 I’ve notice that records are still valuable even if the MP3 players such IPods and other music players are taking over the syncing of music. The way that records are played people can listening to them the way the artist recorded them and not any sounds or program being add on to it. Its the original recording and doesn’t have any special effect added to it. But while the classic vinyl are the original recordings, the Mp3 players are taking a toll to making the vinyl extinct. Mp3 such as IPods can hold thousands of songs and all you would need is a set ear phones and a finger to swipe or press for the next song. It saves people time and space from the Cd’s taking up room in their house and going to the music stores to buy the records. With MP3 players you can add all sorts of sounds to the song to make it sound better. So while MP3 seems to sound better, by records shows that the original are better to listen to than the MP3 because of all the add ons.
Who invented who?
While humans invented the computer and its program, it seems to be that the world is controlled by technology. The technology has advanced greatly through out time. For example, Apple has made a great amount of money with its software and one of its greatest creation is the ITunes. With ITunes people can download music, books, articles, movies, sync apps, restore software etc. Leaving no room or no one wanting to buy books, DVD’s or anything else that can be downloaded or store through ITunes. Another technology that has rise within time and has taken a big impact on society is the smart TV, smartphone, and everything else that is a smart technology. The technology has shown that its like it has its own mind but know who its controller. While you have the smart phone that you can speak to and make an command, the smart TV has built in software that can either take you online or stream a live game that’s playing. One of the most interesting technology that I have encounter is the Xbox one. Made by Microsoft. Not using any controller or remote to control the gaming system, you can simply speak to it and make a command without touching anything. it simply recognize your voice and obeys your command. Its a way where you can communicate with technology and have the luxury of doing so many things. The person responsible for creating such device such as the computer and internet was to make life a little easier but also to make people work as hard as well.
Blast From The Past
I believe that reading from a hard cover copy is more effective than from reading on a tablet or a screen. On a tablet or on screen (ipad, iphone, etc.) people might feel comfortable reading but then you have the distraction on ads and pop ups getting in the way or maybe catching ones attention, which might have one clicking to see what the ad offers and will distract ones focus on reading and just have lost time from reading because one got caught up wondering what the ad was about. But on a hard copy or paper, you have the luxury of just focusing on the texts that are in front of you and not having the privilege to click on anything to take you away from the story. And even though there are ads on paper for example news paper and magazine, it doesn’t take you to a whole different page and change the screen. In the article, The Reading Brain in the Digital Age, it examines that people read slower, less accurately and less comprehensively on screens than on paper.
Finding archives online might seem like a easy task but not when people of monopoly of power has a chance to delete it before you getting a chance to find it. Anything posted online should be able to stay online unless it is a hacked from someone posting something of someone else with out their consent and permission. But besides the fact of hacking into someones account the information and texts that is posted online should be kept online to the public not be deleted and kept secured for the people of power only to be seen by. In the article, THE COBWEB, the author talks about how companies buys off other companies and are deleted people information without letting them know or if they do let them know they send them emails to old emails that can’t be access. The internet is suppose to be secured of peoples own information and should be decided by the their own rights if they want to delete its blogs or info.
NY times and chapter 1
While reading the NY times article and chapter one of research strategies I couldn’t help but think that these articles are telling nothing but the truth; when it comes to technology which has become people’s life. An essential part of our lives which if we were not to have, we wouldn’t know what to do. I say this because I myself use my phone for everything, whether if it’s for work, checking the weather even though I could watch it on tv, and I even do my homework on it. The article on NY times speaks about how traditional life will be changed because of “teletext” and “videotext”. The fact that we use technology for everything and we cannot even have a Normal conversation face to face but instead we text. Another thing we are so attached to is the social media (facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc) “Friends, peer groups and alliances will be determined electronically, creating classes of people based on interests and skills rather than age and social class.” Now a days there are even companies who have their page on one of these social networks which they are constantly updating. This world is now a technology world, technology that nobody can live without.
