After reading the two chapters of Information: A Very Short Introduction I was still struggling a bit to understand some of the terms. I learned in my Communication Design Theory class to break up the work and words to understand it. I have trouble reading longer articles so the chapters have been a bit difficult for me to understand. Going over the definition of information it means data that is well formed and put together. I was understanding the rules or the syntax and how it should be understood. Reading about data it described it as lacks of consistency in the world, there’s also pure data where you interpret work of the subject. There is also primary, secondary, metadata, operational data and derivate data. I am familiar with operational data because it discusses the operation of the entire system. It was informational to read and try to understand the other types of data. Overall the text this week was a bit tricky to read and understand but I started to understand more as I read. There are still a few parts that I am still a bit stuck on that I can understand later on. The diagrams were a little confusing to me and that was one thing throughout the readings I didn’t fully understand. The more we talk about the information and readings the more I can understand them.
