Providing Over 70 Years of Quality Service to the Hospitality Industry

ZiYu Zhang E-Profile

Hi my name is ZiYu Zhang. I was born in China, and I spend 9 years in China before moving to New York. I moved to New York with my parents because they believe I can receive a better education here. I was supposed to graduate from high school in 2018, but I loss focus on school and prioritize on making money so that delayed my graduation date till this August. I figured it is going to be difficult for me to catch up on academics because I was not in school for two years, but I will try my best to catch up. I enjoy watching food channel and gets fascinates of their skills at making delicious food, and the ability to use a knife very smoothly. Also, I enjoy traveling, for the last two years I have travelled to other states one time every two months. These two hobbies help me made my decision for attending the Hospitality Management major. Although I am not sure if I am going to be working in this field, I figured I should try it out because it matches with my interest. My personal strengths as a student are hardworking, respectful, and willing to learn. I believe this major will be the start of my career and help me be prepared for it.

I can totally relate to you in having moved here for a better education, I remember at first it was hard but I was able to overcome many obstacles and I am sure you did too. I grew to love the industry the same way you did, watching food channels and visiting other places. Nice to meet you!

You are in a good place to explore and try to learn about opportunities in hospitality. We can speak mid way through the semester so that we can figure out what classes you should take next semester to help you make a decision about your course of study.
