Class Info

  • Dates: Wednesday, 11/17-Tuesday, 11/23
  • Meeting Info:
    • For the other class meeting time, which would have been 100 minutes long, you will do your work throughout the week asynchronously, on your own time. This work and homework are indistinguishable but all contribute to your informal work for the semester.
    • Work will be due during the week as noted in the weekly agenda, usually with Monday mornings as a deadline to join a discussion so we all have time to read an respond to each other.

Topic

Finishing ENG 1101 Project #2: Reflective Annotated Bibliography; working on ENG 1101 Project #3: Composing in a New Genre and Artist Statement

Objectives

  • To finish Project #2: Reflective Annotated Bibliography
  • To engage with research that will help us explore our topics
  • To consider genre conventions, audience, and purpose
  • To continue to build our glossary

To Do This Week

Work on and submit your annotated bibliography; work on Project #2

Actions

  • If you are getting close to finishing your research and annotations, great–you’re on track! If you are stuck, that’s part of the process, too, but please ask me for help! I’m here for you if you want to work together to help finish your Project #2 and see how to begin Project #3.
  • Videos to watch considering ethos, pathos, and logos to consider how you appeal to your audience:

Reading

Writing

  • Add your Project #2: Reflective Annotated Bibliography as a post using the category ENG 1101 Project #2 Posts (search for the category or keep scrolling through the list of categories–it’s there!) by Monday, 11/22 or as close to that as you can manage. I plan to share feedback in class on Tuesday so we can continue with Project #3.
  • Contribute to two discussions: one about what we can cut to make the rest of the semester more doable, and one about your thoughts for Project #3.
  • Add another entry to our shared glossary (according to the glossary instructions). Think if there’s a word from our current readings or from your research that you want to add. If you didn’t finish your post in class this week, please do!
