Hall English 1101 Fall 2020

picture the scene

On  Monday at 12 o’clock it was day time, our English class started. We all students got to our class and put our nags down, took our notebook out and started doing the do now because our teacher didn’t really like us talking the whole time.  We were 23 students in that class, and that day we were practicing essay writing for our regents.  I remember it was spring season and 3rd month of the year which was march.bAs I got done with my do now, I looked outside the window , it was really windy but inside it was warm. And when I looked at my teachers, they were discussing what next  homework the should give us. That day I was really excited to participate but  when our teacher asked us to share what we wrote, we had a urgent locked up drill in classes( just a practice to aware everyone what should they do if something serious happens) which led the entire period wasted and we didn’t really do anything except to stayed quiet.

This is actually pretty intense, if you think about it from the outside– the fact that there’s a shooter drill. I know that that’s run of the mill for you, but for older folks, it’s a bit heartbreaking to hear. Also, was it last March? Because that’s right around when the pandemic was about to hit. Just an intense time. You guys have been through a lot.

I’m so sorry I’ll remove my drill part from it. I didn’t know it sounds really terrifying but it was just the practice drill that school does to spread awareness. It wasn’t the actual one but I’ll remove it .

Oh don’t remove it! I think it’s good. “Intense is a good word.” I’m just saying it’s interesting that to you guys it’s not a big deal, but it’s wild to me that you have to prepare for active shooter drills and that looking at this we know (though you did not know at the time) a pandemic was coming. It’s a quiet day, but a lot is going on in the world. It’s deep.
