Depth of Field

IMG_7841

In this photograph, the main focus is on the mushroom. Having the mushroom up close in focus and having the background blurry, is what shows the distance from the main object in focus to the background. Depth of field can also be shown by aperture value and focal length.

I Think They’re Peaches

_MG_0044

My photograph of what I suspect to be peaches has a shallow depth of field in the foreground and the background. The focus is in the mid-ground.

What I like about this photo is how the middle of the photo is what is catching your attention, it’s shallow in the front and also in the back. What I think about Depth of Field is making an objector/person seem more or less important than it’s background.

Shallow Depth Of Field

IMG_6629

Shallow depth of field is when a photo ha a specific focal point while the rest of the photo is soft. For example when a photo is focused on a subject in the foreground the middle and background would be soft and vice versa. To do this you need to adjust your camera aperture, zoom and physical distance from your subject.

Shallow Depth of Field

The distance between the nearest and the farthest point that appear in sharp focus of a subject or and object of a photograph is called depth of field. I got this shallow depth of field picture of the size of a hole and getting close to the object while it focuses at the side of the hole.

Depth of Field

This photograph is a good example of shallow depth of field. Shallow depth of field is have the subject in focus and the background is out of focus, or the subject is out of focus and the background is in focus.

IMG_9515This flower is shot with shallow depth of field, making it so that the background is blurry and the subject is fully focused.

Depth of Field Photograph – Calvin Wang

I chose this as my favorite photo because it really brings out the depth of field. The series of benches next to one another creating a sort of depth perspective. The bench closest to the camera and down creates the field of dept. In this photo it is the background and the benches in the back that creates that depth of field.

This photo is my best example of shallow depth of field. The subject are the grapes, which they are very clear. The foreground and background is very blurry, which the shallow depth of field is shown.

Shallow Depth of field is when the main object is sharp and clear, and the back ground soft and blurry. The way to get this type of picture is by focusing on one object up close.
