Chris Susano

I am a First year Hospitality Management student at New York City College of Technology. I would describe myself as a quiet and kind person who hasn’t realized his full potential yet, and above all else, will put aside my personal feelings and thoughts for the sake of the assignment. I have experiences limited to kitchen of my parent’s job at the Marriott. What has inspired me to enroll in this course is because of them and the many possibilities that I could have if I work hard to make this short term goal of mine a reality. My short time goal is to one day send them on a luxury experience to wherever they want to go. As for a long life goal, I am still undecided but I still have some time to think of my future.

Danielle Edmund

I am Danielle Edmund. I got interested in hospitality management by traveling around in the last two years. My school never prepared me for my career choice nor was it equipped to teach me about it.Ā  Having no career experience will not stop me from accomplishing my goals and making hospitality not only something good that I can experience but for everyone as well. I want guests and visitors to enjoy themselves where ever they go just like I do. My personal strengths are persistence, patience, observation, listening, asking questions, working with a team, making sure everyone understands and is not left out, learning from my mistakes and skills from my professors.Ā  Also being kind and always smiling because I believe that happiness is gained through helping others out and knowing their happy is bigger than any paycheck i will ever get. The personal interests that will enhance my professional attributes are actually what lead me to choose this career. Wanting to help others, making sure people enjoy themselves traveling, and soft fluffy hotel beds and making guests visit one to remember and return back to again soon.

I am a first year student at New York City College of Technology majoring in Hospitality Management. In my high school life, I got the opportunity to be part of a culinary program that later will permit me to experience my first volunteering jobs, then from those chances came an shot that would result in my first competition. Junior Iron Chef America competition, even though my team lost, I took comfort in why we lost. The instructions were to make something that kids would eat for lunch at school, my teams Mediterranean Quesadilla tasted too sophisticated that it was deemed to ā€œadultā€ for the regular lunch menus. In my senior year, I had the second opportunity to participate in another culinary competition, FCCLA baking competition and with the guidance of my culinary teacher I was able to get past my dislike of baking to obtain second place and two scholarships from Culinary Institute of America and Johnson and Wales. From then on my main focus is on becoming a DJ to help up me continue my start up small entertainment company that I started with my high school friend, we provide obviously the entertainment, we also provide catering, security, and hopefully at one point in the future have a venue.
