Many sport fans come to New York to watch baseball games at the Met Stadium and basketball in Madison Square Garden. One place that most tourists should visit when they are in Brooklyn is the Brooklyn Bridge Waterfront. The Brooklyn Bridge Waterfront is a developed attraction in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Dumbo. The waterfront allows visitors to experience a breathtaking view of the New York City skyline as well as a close up view of the Brooklyn Bridge. It is a great place for relaxation and a great area to have a picnic with your friends or families. After enjoying the Brooklyn Bridge Waterfront, tourists can start their next day at Coney Island for more activities and fun.

Friday

1- Enjoy a Classic, 11:30 A.M.

On a friday little before noon, while visiting the Brooklyn Waterfront, you would want to enjoy something to eat. While you’re walking to the Waterfront, there is a famous pizzeria that you must try out. They’re well known in newspapers and to residents of New York City. Grimaldi’s is a famous coal-fired brick oven pizzeria, the oldest and only one in New York City. The interior of the restaurant style pizzeria gives you a friendly, family atmosphere. The lines to get in could be long but it is worth the wait. This always crowded pizzeria has a no-slice policy, which means you must order the whole pizza pie. One medium pie could easily be shared between two hungry visitors.

2- Refresh Yourself, 3:00 P.M.

There is a lemonade stand near the entrance of walking through the park of the Brooklyn Waterfront. The lemons in the lemonades are freshly squeezed giving it the sour but refreshing taste. There are different choices to select from but plain lemonade is a recommended choice. Lizzmonade is popular around the waterfront because of its cold beverage and unique flavors. It is a great beverage to carry while you explore around the Waterfront or relaxing on the grassy field.

3- Treat Yourself, 5:00 P.M.

There is a Ice Cream Factory under the Brooklyn Bridge in a Little House-like Lighthouse theme. At The Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory, there is only the finest and natural ingredients used to make their ice cream. After you get yourself a delicious ice cream cone or in a cup, you could enjoy the view of the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan skylines.

4- Embracing Your Child At Heart, 6:30 P.M.

If you don’t enjoy standing up to eat your ice cream after you order it, you could go for a walk to Jane’s Carousel and have a seat on the big long steps leading up to the carousel in the open area. You can also take a ride on the carousel for 4-6 dollars. While looking at Manhattan around this time, you’ll be able to see a beautiful sunset behind the tall buildings in Manhattan creating a work of art which could only be captured as a picture perfect moment with a  camera or your eyes.

Saturday

5- Just Like In The Movies, 10:00 A.M.

Early in the morning you could go for a morning jog or walk by the ocean at Coney Island Beach and Boardwalk. The nice, breezy wind along with the sound of the ocean would be relaxing and enjoyable for visitors looking to start their mornings calm and peaceful. The sand will be cool between your toes and start warming up as the day nears noon and the waves will lap at your feet if you’re close enough to the water. The beach is a great place to lie-down and get some Vitamin D but don’t forget your sunscreen! After awhile, you’ll venture to the boardwalk to explore.

Coney Island beach at sunset. Brooklyn, New York City. The sun whispers to the ocean in golden-voiced tones on evenings like these. Summer’s warmth falls onto the bare skin of the earth as the air is punctuated by the sounds of distant laughter and birds. And the city fades into the haze like a nostalgic thought carried away by an all too familiar melody. — I had a bit of a camera tragedy a few weeks back. My beloved Sony SLT-A55 stopped working. It’s currently being looked at by Sony and I have had the pleasure of using a Sony SLT-A77 (the image in this post was taken with it) as a loaner camera until the end of the month which has been nothing short of magical. I plan on doing a write-up later this week regarding how the Sony SLT- A55 compares to the Sony SLT- A77. — View this photo larger and on black on my Google Plus page — Buy “Beach Sunset - Coney Island - Brooklyn - New York City” Prints here, email me, or ask for help. The first phase of reconstruction would replace a five-block portion of the boardwalk with concrete and recycled plastic. That could serve as a model to eventually rebuild the entire 42-block stretch.

6- Chill and Grill, 1:30 P.M.

On a cool, warm afternoon you could visit Ruby’s Bar & Grill. This place is the only full-service bar and grill on the boardwalk with indoor seating. While you’re enjoying your time at Coney Island beach, you could sit down and have a drink. If you’re hungry this is a good place to have lunch.

7- Swimming With The Fishes, 2:30 P.M.

Wouldn’t it be a trick to go to an aquarium and spectate different kind of sea creatures? Well, the New York Aquarium is the best place in the city to do so. During the warmer months, vending carts are located around the facility, offering a variety of snacks. The aquarium has s wide variety of sea animals for you to explore, some animals you can touch, and some that you can feed. There’s even an interactive show at the Aquatheater where you can watch talented sea lions interact with trainers and put on a fantastic show. You’ll come to the aquarium expecting to see some fishes but leave in awe and new appreciation for the ocean.

The Brooklyn Bridge is definitely a “have to go” place when you travel to Brooklyn. It is a bridge that connects the two major boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn. On the Brooklyn Bridge website, you can learn: “Since 1883, its granite towers and steel cables have offered a safe and scenic passage to millions of commuters and tourists, trains, and bicycles, pushcarts and cars.” The view from Brooklyn Bridge is always amazing, but the sunset is the most stunning view. It’s absolutely relaxing when you lean on one side of the bridge with your friends or family and just watching the sun sets down.

SWIM IN THE BOOKS 1 P.M.

You should never miss a bookstore while you traveling. A bookstore can represent the culture of the city. “A used bookshop, by definition, is conservative. It can mock right wing public figures, boast a unique selection of books on avant-garde art, punk music and recreational drugs. These values can be either of historical import or simply anachronistic.” There is nothing can compare to find an amazing value book to read. Every used book tells a story. Come to P.S. Bookshop if you want to know the stories of the books

WALK WITH ART 4 P.M.

THE FENCE is an annual, summer-long, outdoor photographic exhibition inaugurated in Brooklyn Bridge Park. New Yorkers are always proud of their artworks, no matter it’s the scrawl on the wall or the art collection held in fancy place. Art shows the sense of New Yorkers and the culture of United States, artists use their way to show America in their eyes. It’s a really good way to learn culture from the eyes of artists.
