Frankenstein Chapter 11-12

While reading chapter 11-12, the monster seems like he’s trying to understand the meaning of life, and how a family is devoted by one another. He tells Victor about the confusion that he was experience while he was being created, and tells him about the sensations he discover, such as the light, dark, hunger, thirst. The monster tells Victor the story when he was sitting near a fire, and he was please of the warm. He then became appall, when he had burn himself, he realize that by keeping the fire alive, he must put more wood. The monster also realize that fire is not only good for heat and warmth, also for cooking food and more palatable. For being a monster, he understand the social significance of family and sense the difference between his looks and others, which led him to feel alone. The monster observing how the cottager’s devotion to each other. And their kindness have left him feelings alone. The monster than question on how much kindness does he have to have to interacted with others. The monster unpleasant interactions with others, and nameless; had cause him to lack social identity. 

The monster reactions to observing the connection between human moods and natural surroundings, led him to have a childlike reaction to springtime. Nature is essential to both the monster and Victor. As the temperature rises and the cold of the winter, the monster takes comfort of how nature perceives itself to be. The monster forget about his own ugliness and unnaturalness when he is aware of his reactions to nature.
