Response 3

For starters, I truly understand the creature’s perspective and I really feel bad towards his emotions and his wants. He was brought to this world, and was rejected by everyone around him. The creature’s isolation is caused through the horror that people see from the outside, but deep down inside, he wants to feel loved and accepted. He gained hatred towards Frankenstein and therefore, anything that related to Frankenstein, must be destroyed or killed. In the beginning of chapter 5, Frankenstein was admired by his creation just before this creature actually took a breath of life. That’s when all of this hatred and damage was caused because although Frankenstein created this creature, he never realized that the creature would one day have needs and wants like every other human being. It’s kind of like when you set a goal for yourself. You always picture it a certain way, but it turns out to be completely different from what you expected it to be. It is unfair that this creature has to wander through the woods because everyone excludes him from actually being accepted in their society. This creature can resemble the societal changes that occur in today’s society and it is nearly unbelievable by how many people will do things just to be accepted by others. In the chapters that the creatures takes first person, he kind of creates an atmosphere of suspense because he does explain in one of the chapters, that he started learning certain customs and the language from the De Lacey family. But once he tried to create a friendship with them, they chased him away. This creature has all the right in the world to be upset at his creator, and look for vengeance and to actually question his existence on earth.
