My research topic is Coronavirus. COVID-19 is a very strong subject matter to me because this outbreak has affected our everyday lives for a total year. I feel as though the virus had spread way too fast and that there was not enough political or social awareness until it was far beyond our control. Being forced from a physical to remote lifestyle within two weeks had a great and depressing impact on thousands of New Yorkers. People lost their jobs and eventually had to file for unemployment assistance, children from every grade and age could no longer attend school (including me). restaurants and businesses that were closed lost lots of money, hospitals were busy, and clinics were closed. People even bought out stores thinking the end of the world was near. COVID-19 caused lots of chaos and disruption in today’s society and the government along with our people are going to have a hard time adjusting to the way things were prior to the outbreak. Although we have a vaccination, some people oppose it. On top of that, infection rates are still rising. I don’t think our battle with the coronavirus is close to over, however, I am hopeful.

My sister was a huge fan of shoes and whenever she had the chance, she would buy a ton of shoes at the mall. Her walk in closet was full of shoe boxes filled up from corner to corner. She tried to shove her most recent spree of shoes into the closet but couldn’t organize them anyway for them to fit. Unfortantley for her, as she was trying to force the shoes into the closet, an avalche of boxes fell on her. Sneakers, sandles, heels, and sneakers fell out onto her head and she began to cry in frustration. Our mom overheard the commission in the next room, rushed in and offered her some help in donating some of my sister’s older footwear. My mom told my sister that if she threw away some of her older shoes, that my sister would no longer struggle to fit the newer ones into the closest.
During Springbreak, I didn’t do much. I went to the mall twice to do some shopping. I bought some new spring clothes from Godson and myself and also did some shopping for my house. Spring break was a lot longer in high school. Back then I would’ve had more time to do fun things outside. For the most part, I stayed home, watched movies, and did homework in between that. My family and I hadn’t hosted a movie night in a while so we arranged that. I got a chance to watch Godzilla vs King Kong. For the most part, it was pretty chill, however, I did enjoy the nice weather Springbreak brung and still am.
