The Desert Tarantula, one of the most fascinating arachnids to dwell on this earth. It is by far the most largest spider discovered sizing up to 3-4 inches. As portrayed in the movies one will think that they are ferocious and will attack anything that breathes, but in reality they are harmless critters who live most of their lives burrowed underground just waiting for prey to welcome themselves into their vicinity. The male desert tarantula only lives up to 10 years after mating while in contrast the female is expected to live for 25 or more years after laying their eggs.
