Upload your Unit 1 Education Narrative Paper ON BLACKBOARD.

To Upload your paper, Log On to Blackboard with your CITY TECH log on info.

Look under MY CLASSES for our class:

Once you’re in our Blackboard class website, click on “UPLOAD UNIT 1 PAPER HERE” in the left-hand green margin.

Then, click on the BLUE title (“UPLOAD UNIT 1 EDUCATION NARRATIVE HERE”), read and follow instructions for ATTACHING your paper as a .doc, .docx, or .pdf file.

Remember to SAVE your paper first, as a .doc, .docx, or .pdf file on your computer or drive.

When you SAVE your paper as a file, remember to use professional and academic NAMING CONVENTIONS  for files and documents: PUT YOUR NAME in the document title when you save a file.

Example: Francis_Velas_Unit_1_paper.doc or F. Velas Unit 1.docx 2.

Then ATTACH the .doc, .docx, or .pdf file by following the instructions for uploading a paper.

Do NOT use the “Write Submission” text box either to write or copy/paste your paper.

PAPER GRADING CRITERIA:

Your narrative…

  • focuses on either one event or on a series of connected events.
  • uses concrete and specific details to create a picture for your reader.
  • has an overall point. reflects thoughtfully on the events discussed.
  • uses carefully chosen words, transitions, and is organized in a manner that makes your meaning clear.
  • uses tone, language, grammar, and sentence structure appropriate for your genre, audience, and purpose. has been carefully proofread.
  • meets the required word count: at least 1000 words.
  • has been submitted on time.

Your paper will receive a tentative grade for this draft. You can improve upon the grade you receive for this draft by revising and improving your paper, based on my comments and the original grading criteria indicated here and on the assignment. The final draft of this paper will be graded separately based on the version of the paper you include in your Final Portfolio (due at the end of the semester).

If you must hand your paper in late, you can. I’ll take some points off, depending on how late the paper is and whether or not you’ve discussed with me or emailed me (cdeaver@citytech.cuny.edu) about your concerns and situation.
