The Scallion Pancake  golden crunchy exterior that wrapped around the tender  pork belly, spicy pickled kimchi and the fresh crisp cucumber . It was quite filling  but  i was able to still look around the other food vendors  and try out the other food.

Jackson Heights

Jackson Heights  trip the first thing we tried was the Buñuelos which was a Colombian  cheese bread. i had this many times before since i live a few blocks away from a Colombian bakery. The Buñuelos    has a  golden brown hard exterior with a fluffy yet somewhat spongy interior with  a little cheese in it.  This kind of bread would be my second favorite thing beside Empanadas.

Temaki

First time having this type of sushi, Temaki, its nothing special besides the shape but its the first i really notice the seaweed, paper thin crunchy yet has a chew to it and a salty after tone to it.  Usually when i  eat sushi , i get the regular rolls , where you hardly taste the seaweed.  With the Temaki ,there is a uniqueness to them because of their shape but the taste is exactly the same, just rice and some kind of seafood and filing.  Just seaweed alone is not my favorite , so the Temaki, i have mix feelings towards it. MOFAD

It was my second time to go to the Museum of Food And Drink in Williamsburg. This time i learned more from this visit than the first time because we had a tour guide  where we learned that the museum talks about the chemicals that are in food and chemical reaction that happens when all are sense engage with food. They gave us a jelly bean to eat but we had to hold our nose as we chew.  At first i only tasted sugar ,then the guide told us to release our nose and flavor came through which i was able to get the full experience of the jelly bean, i had orange. So through  Smell and taste  i was able to not only taste the sugar but i was able to taste the citrus orange flavor other than seeing the color that i got. i also learned that true definition of what natural and artificial means and the differences between them.

pork sisig

Sisig in in Filipino  means chopped up meat  that can be sauteed or fried in vinegar  soy sauce onions,  lemon juice, jalapeños and seasoned with salt, pepper, and other spices. The first time i ever hear of it or seen it was on a Filipino food truck called SIsig City where i also ate at their resturant. The Pork sisig came with a fried egg on top.  The dish was full of flavor  crunchy from the fried pok belly called lechon tangy from the vinegar, rich from the egg yolk, bright  and citrus from the lemon juice called calamansi , kick of spice from the jalapeno , a little salty from the soy sauce and sweet from the sauteed onions and peppers.
