Yousuf karsh and Nadav Kander

Yousuf Karsh was an Armenian-Canadian photographer who was born in Turkey. Yousef Karsh’s photograph are black and white. The picture itself tells us a story without any extra added object or features. His style of works are breathtaking. I say that because the contrast. THE Shades of grey in his photos creates emotional storm within us. He has photographed a lot of famous people. They are already mysterious figures. I get a feeling that his pictures helps us understand their charecter and personality in depth.

Nadav Kander London-based photographer He was born is Israel. He shoots portraits and landscapes. His style of photograph takes an artistic turn where he adds graphic elements to the portraits which I found quite amusing. He breaks the boundary. He plays around with the lighting to create a fabricated feeling and story. It does leaves the audience with the space to be more creative as they interpret the images. His landscapes are phonemonal. The colors are amazing it sets a mood and creates feelings that does perfectly with the photographs.

Dawoud Bey’s Project

Dawoud Bey’s photography project was really unique. He has done something really unique. Throughout his photographs he has portrayed the minor groups of our society but I can’t help but recognize how bias the was. His portraits includes children of color and  their stories are some stereotypical stories that you’ll find in most of the colored people in that group. Even though the project started of as a very unique project, it took a very drastic turn and became cliche  very fast. I feel like the project would’ve been much more unbiased if he photographed middle classes families of all color and race and break out of the cliche and stereotypical stories.
