Midterm Critique 1

Isadora Martinez | Jessie Zhang | Jonathan Lopez

IM – Jessie captured really well the life and enjoyment in a park on a sunny fun filled day and also captured the energy of a rainy day with its solitude and reflections from the puddles from multiple different angles.

JL – I think Jessie did a great job capturing the two completely different feelings during the day with joyous smiles and fun activities and the lonely vibe of the rainy day empty park.

IM – My suggestions would be to explore the playground at a time when it has more life and kids having fun. I enjoyed the person sliding down the slide and would love to see more of it.

JZ – I liked the shallow depth of field and how there still so much info in the background but the foreground element still captures your attention.

Daniel’s Photos

These are my favorite 4 photos from Daniel’s work. I think that he did a great job with these. In my opinion, he can improve these images by deciding what his focus point is.

Midterm Shoot 1 Critique

Jamir had a really interesting set of dynamic photos here. There is so much movement happening in these still images. I particularly like the shots where either he or the ball are in mid-air or he is mid-movement. If I were to give my input on how to improve these images I would say that before Jamir starts his photo shoot, he should take a few test images to help him frame his entire shot. This way, he doesn’t accidentally slip out of frame and miss anything in the photos. Also, I think I might’ve liked to have seen these photos from another perspective other than low angle. (even though the low angle accentuates him jumping)

Jamir campbell’s Photo

Great angle and movement that was captured in the freeze motion. All you need is finding a way to get the ball into focus and it will look like a NIKE advertisement.

Freeze in Motion

This is Amena Miah’s photo. I like the blurry effect because it shows us that it was taken in the middle of him running and I also like the background, there is space, which makes it easier to focus on the man running.
