I used a radio and two lights placed right above it and tried to capture images as the lights changed colors.

You really imporved this when you changed the angle. The choice of the retro style and the color is terrific. I am not so wild about this very vertical format. Also, your photo does not have a true black making it look a little flatter then it should. Bring it through lightroom and using the histogram, make the blacks darker. On your phone in Lightroom tap on the image to bring up the histogram. Use the light category to bring down the blacks.
