I learned that I need a some kind of relationship for either the background or foreground for my object to pull of a depth of field. I also learned that for the sometimes the regular camera’s depth of field is not as strong as the app’s. However the app can too make mistakes like sometimes making only a certain part of a background blurry.
The Clorox example is your best one where you can really see the benefit of shallow depth of field and how you can use it to direct the viewers attention.
