Development of College Council Mission Statement

Following are two versions of the text for the Citytech mission statement for your consideration.

The first version of the mission statement was provided by Barbara Burke from the Office of Sponsored Programs. This text may be considered a more streamlined version of the mission statement that was previously created by the college strategic planning committee.

The second version is a further revision provided by the personnel committee. It revises and builds upon the aforementioned version and emphasizes an alignment with CUNY’s general mission.

These two versions are provided for your review and comments.

Sincerely,
Marco Castillo

  1. I also prefer version one, though I also like the inclusion of CUNY in version two. Perhaps we could slightly change the wording of the first sentence in version one:

“At New York City College of Technology, City University of New York, we are committed to providing broad access to high quality technological and professional education for the diverse populations of New York City.”
