In the article “Is Google Making Us Stupid” Nicholas Carr is stating two points that google is hurting us and that it isn’t. Nicholas starts by telling us that for him google has kind of affected his reading due to that fact that he can’t even focus after two, three pages of reading a book or article and its hard for him to stay on the same topic with our wandering off. For example in the text it states” what the net seems to be doing is chipping away my capacity for concentration and contemplation”. So Carr is saying from this study that the reason for his lack of focus has to do with the easiness of the internet. Now Nicholas does state that the internet has been a godsend to him im sure because it has given him easy access to things as a writer that he has needed to write his articles.
what i see from the pros and cons of google is that they both prove very strongly to shoe people need good and how they also get affected by google in a negative and positive way. For example when people need to search things for papers or articles they go straight to the internet because its less time and reliable. Now the con to that is that they lose interest in reading big articles a lose focus while reading or jumping from topic to topic which is bad because focusing time isnt as strong as others. In my opinion google will always be good and bad.
