Initially I believed that gaming didn’t have a social impact and responsibility on society. After some insight from the article that I read on the topic I realized that the gaming industry plays an important role. Gaming can have a specific effect on people’s perception of certain things. The main character could be the vessel of how the gaming industry is socially affecting people. The protagonist of any videogame can represent many different types of people.

Granted… but why does this make the game designers responsible? What could they do to change perceptions? Aren’t they just reflecting what society has deemed appropriate?
