My first memory with technology was around 2007 when I was about 5 years old. I remember my brother and I getting a Windows computer from our parents I was instantly amazed by all the possibilities. Games, videos, music, movies and more all became accessible to me and I could find anything I wanted at the click of a few buttons. Within a short amount of time I became very knowledgeable about computers and I was very fluent if you can call it that, in technology. Sites like YouTube were one of my favorites and I’d spend hours watching funny videos and videos that related to my interests such as gameplays of my favorite video games. My brother would also show me music on the computer that to this day I listen to and he would also show me tech videos about new technology that neither of us had access too but we knew we would want to have one day like the iPhone or the latest consoles. The internet and computers changed my life and it was only a matter of time until technology was incorporated in every aspect of my life. Being familiar with technology at an early age helped me a lot as I eventually began using it to my advantage and I began using it to learn instead of for just entertainment.
My friend is one of the first people that got me interested in coding and got me interested in pursuing technology as a career. He explained the many possibilities available through coding and it only made sense to me to pick my current major since I loved technology from a young age and my friend only got me interested further. We both share the same strengths and interest in science and in math so I thought my major would also be a good fit for me. One day I dream that we can accomplish great things once we get our degrees and start something that changes the world.
You be lucky that you were able to play with the technology so early! Before this social media thing, even my favorite was also youtube( I think it still is somewhere 😉 ) . Wish you luck for your dream 🙂
