My Internship is a remote internship.Its an informal attire.WE communicate via ROCK.I get assigned work by my supervisor and i have a date of submission. My supervisor and/or team members communicate with me via Rock its an application similar to slack.It’s a way that helps us ask questions.WE can also share design work we have done to Receive feedbacks.
Also,if i am not able to communicate on rock .I could communicate via phone through my Phone number.
In this internship ,it teaches me how the work follow of the real world looks like.I get assigned project and have to submit on due dates.My first project assigned by my supervisor was to do a Letter head.he also provides me with duties related to my field.He provided me with the logo, color palette and a example. However after 4 different layout. he like a simple one.My supervisor in this assignment was very helpful , he was specific with how he wanted his letterheads to be.He even gave me the opportunity to put my creativity. He was open to feedbacks from me.I also felt that he was very supportiveĀ since this was my first, i consider assignment in the really world.I was very scared when i was doing this assignment.I felt like i never didĀ a letterhead before for a few seconds .Although , i did .It was a new experience that i was glad i had the opportunity to do.This experience taught me one big lesson which is the respect of due dates.
Today I received the first internship graphic design assignment.My first assignment is to do a letterhead for the organization.I am very excited since this will provide me with experience and how work in the real world is like.I was required by Neil my supervisor to do 4 different style cover letters for the organization. He provided me with the logo the information and a color palette to design from.
The first one i created was an abstract one with shapes.I used the color he provided.The second one the used circles and rearranged the design to make it different from the other one.Then in the 3rd and fourth i asked him if i could expand the design more and use tones of color.In the 3rd and forth design i was able to adjust my design and make my cover letters for unique.I was glade and the end that I was able to provide my feedback and he liked them all.
I applied for an internship at Unity for Equality organization internship program.https://www.unityforequality.org/Ā This organization is a non profit organization andĀ its a unpaid internship.This organization is located at Flushing Ny.The founder of this organization his name is Neil Trivedi .The cause of him forming this organization was because he He observed current hardships people were experiencing due to difficulty in finding employment, financial problems, the presence of discrimination, inequality in opportunities, struggles with the immigration system, lack of access to education, and challenges in obtaining health insurance. Neil formed a group in his neighborhood to tackle these issues, going as far as to voice collective concerns to elected leaders.
I got this internship from one of my friends from college he took the class a semester earlier than me.I was talking to him and than he told me about the Organization. I told him if you can ask your supervisor if they need inters,so he then emailed me. Saying that his supervisor wants an interview with me. I sent my portfolio.Then the day after we meet via zoom.I had the interview introduced myself, gave a feedback about my work. Then we started from there.I was so happy ,because iĀ was never convinced in college when professor would say NETWORK.I always thought that getting something would be from hard work but this experience provided me wrong.Networking and hard work will getĀ me to the place i want.I networked with one of my peers ,gave my portfolio in .Got excepted.
Networking saves lots of time and effort.My lesson from this experience was its never bad to network because if i wouldn’t have been talking to him .I would have been searching for an internship that would have takenĀ a while and pressure .
