Read­ing Ef­fec­tively Across Dis­ci­plines Read­ing is es­sen­tial to col­lege learn­ing in every con­tent area. The READ pro­gram sup­ports fac­ulty pro­fes­sional de­vel­op­ment for im­ple­men­ta­tion and as­sess­ment of teach­ing strate­gies to im­prove their stu­dents’ read­ing com­pre­hen­sion, analy­sis, con­text and eval­u­a­tion skills in the dis­ci­plines.

Reading Effectively Across Disciplines Reading is essential to college learning in every content area. The READ program supports faculty professional development for implementation and assessment of teaching strategies to improve their students’ reading comprehension, analysis, context and evaluation skills in the disciplines.

As a com­mit­tee we are work­ing on en­hanc­ing our new stu­dent ori­en­ta­tion process. We are as­sess­ing and en­hanc­ing all steps from the mo­ment a stu­dent is ac­cepted into the col­lege to their first year ex­pe­ri­ence.

As a committee we are working on enhancing our new student orientation process. We are assessing and enhancing all steps from the moment a student is accepted into the college to their first year experience.
