Overview

Plans, Sections, and Elevations are the most basic drawings for studying buildings, giving clear primary information about the nature of the building. For the Module 1 drawing assignment, we will be using the Federal Hall building in lower Manhattan as a case study which we will analyze together as a class while developing a detailed set of architectural drawings. Refer to the ARCH 1231 Course Hub Module 1 Overview for more details.

Due Date(s)

Final Module 1 drawings are to be presented in a Pin UP in class on Thursday March 2, at 8:30 AM (make sure to match what is listed on the course schedule page)

At this Pin Up, you will introduce yourself and speak about your drawings. What did you draw that looks great? Best practice you can share with class. One small item you need to improve upon. I will ask for comments from other students (this counts as participation during class time and shows your knowledge and attention to the topic) I then give feedback on the items missing, best items to draw that are quick and score more points. You then have a week to correct and complete your drawings. Then scan or photograph them for .pdf format and upload to BLACKBOARD by 11AM on Thursday March 9, 2023. Use the archiving convention shown on the Course Hub site.
