In class writing

Dear future students of English 1101

English 1101 isn’t just about writing essays, you learn how to write things in a professional writing and it prepares you for the real world. This class is actually a really good way to express yourself in your writing. If you like writing I think this class is perfect for you, I think it’s a necessary class for any major. Some advice I will like to give you guys is to manage your time. Plan your assignments in advance to avoid stress. Break down larger tasks into smaller manageable steps, and aim to complete before deadlines. Create work plans for yourself. Try to avoid procrastinating don’t be like me letting assignments stack on each other and get so stressed. I would also like to advise you guys to take advantage of all the resources our school is open too like the writing center. You guys should also reflect on your writing. Notice your improvements and what you think you should work on. Then revise your writing and make it better as you go. Overall I really enjoyed this class and found it really interesting and helpful. Good luck!!

Reviewing the feedback for my RAB, I realized that there are a lot of areas where I fell short of the assignment’s expectations. I feel like I overlooked crucial elements of the RAB. I did not provide enough quotations. I also did not explain my topic choice and the identification of my sources. I am definitely revising my RAB and will include everything I missed. The comments on the RAB made me reflect on my writing and made me come to an awakening that I really need to carefully read an assignment and I need to understand exactly what a question is asking me that way my I can be a better writer.

For my Unit 1 narrative writing, I feel like I effectively made the scenes vivid. However, upon reviewing the feedback, I became aware of multiple grammatical errors in my work. I am planning on  to fix these mistakes and resubmit a revised version. I also noticed that there were  instances where the narrative lacked sense, which was crazy to me, because as I initially reread it  everything seemed perfect, I realized that the tiredness  during the writing process lead to a loss of focus, making it challenging to identify errors. Seeing the comments made me think that i should use the method of rereading my writing outloud which will help me detect errors more easily then in my head, which i will be using for future assignments.
