Center for Student Accessibility

  • The Center for Student Accessibility provides support for students who have documented permanent or temporary disabilities. If you are eligible, they can help you with enrollment, advisement, tutoring, assistive technologies, testing accommodations, career counseling and employment assistance.
    • Contact the director, John Currie (JCurrie@CityTech.Cuny.Edu 718-260-5143), if you have a diagnosed learning or physical disability, suspect you have a disability, had an IEP (Individualized Education Program) in high school, become ill or injured during the semester.

Computer Labs 

  • There are several computer labs available to all City Tech students. Below is a list of locations and hours. Call iTec at 718-254-8565 for more information.
    • General Building 600 (PC lab), General 606 (dedicated to ePortfolios, OpenLab, and students taking online or hybrid courses), General 608 (fully equipped Mac lab)
      • Hours:
        Monday — Thursday: 8:30 A.M. – 9:00 P.M. 
        Friday: 9:00 A.M. – 7:00 P.M.
    • Voorhees 217 (hybrid computer/drafting tables and high-end Macs)

Confidential Crisis Support·      If you’re having any painful thoughts or feelings, text “CUNY” to 741741 for support· This free, confidential support is available to all students in crisis. While a crisis can mean thoughts of self-harm, it also refers to any painful emotion a person is experiencing. 

Connecting to WiFi 

  • CUNY now offers free, secure Wi-Fi access via eduroam at campus and Center Office hotspots.
  • Here are the instructions for connecting to the campus wireless network. Please note, you’ll have to have antivirus software already installed on your device before you can connect. Here you will find instructions on how to download McAfee Antivirus software.

Financial Aid and Student Emergency Relief Funding 

  • The Petrie Student Emergency Grant Program provides aid to students who are facing hardships that might otherwise make it impossible to continue attending school. If you think you qualify for this grant, visit the website and contact a counselor at counseling@citytech.cuny.edu.

ID Card  

  • Besides getting you into buildings, your City Tech ID card allows you to take books out of the library (including all other CUNY libraries), gives you access to events happening at all CUNY campuses (concerts, movies, etc.), and provides discounts at numerous NYC shops and restaurants.
  • Your City Tech ID card can be obtained or replaced by visiting Namm 112. Make sure you bring a photo ID, proof that you are a current registered student (a course schedule will work), and $15 if you are replacing a missing ID.

Library 

  • The Ursula C. Schwerin Library is both a physical (entrance is located on the 4th floor of the Library Building) and virtual resource. Along with an extensive catalogue, the library has computers, printers, calculators available for loan, a multimedia resource center, tutorials and workshops, and librarians available to help you with all your research needs.
  • Make sure you validate your ID card at the library each semester!
  • With your City Tech ID, you also have access to CUNY libraries throughout the city.

Microsoft Office

Open Lab

  • Open Lab is an open-source platform available to City Tech students, faculty, and staff. Many of your classes will require you to use Open Lab, so set up an account right away using your City Tech email address.
