- Here is an overview of legal resources for CUNY students
- Because the situation is ongoing, it is often best to consult a lawyer about your personal situation if you have legal concerns. CUNY Citizenship Now is an organization within CUNY that provides free and confidential legal counseling to anyone who lives in New York City. They can also refer you to other organizations if they don’t specialize in your specific needs.
- If ICE comes to your home or your workplace, you have rights! Please see this document provided by the City of New York for information on what to do if you encounter ICE officers. You can print up cards with some of this information translated into multiple languages here.
- City Tech has three people designated as “immigrant liaisons”. You can contact them if you have questions:

- This is a great place to start, no matter what issue you’re facing! The Student Success Center is here to help all City Tech students tackle the challenges of college and keep moving forward to their degree. We do this by listening to your needs, and working with you to create strategies and plans that move you closer to your goals. Come to us with any questions and we will help you get your answers.
- The Counseling Center offers a wide range of support: personal, academic, mental health, crisis counseling, LGBTQI+ resources and info, food and emergency housing resources, study skills and so much more!
Center for Student Accessibility
- The Center for Student Accessibility provides support for students who have documented permanent or temporary disabilities. If you are eligible, they can help you with enrollment, advisement, tutoring, assistive technologies, testing accommodations, career counseling and employment assistance.
- Contact the director, John Currie (JCurrie@CityTech.Cuny.Edu 718-260-5143), if you have a diagnosed learning or physical disability, suspect you have a disability, had an IEP (Individualized Education Program) in high school, become ill or injured during the semester.
